Isn’t poker gambling?
NO. Poker is a skill based game where players play against each other (not against the casino or house) and use SKILL to outplay their opponents. Poker players are calculated risk takers – NOT gamblers.
Is The Poker Room event a gambling event?
Absolutely NOT. This is not a gambling event in any way. NO money exchanges hands and players are not playing for any monetary based prizes. Players play for the fun, thrill and excitement of the experience, and the game is used as a strategic and educational tool for the corporate market.
Is The Poker Room legal and approved?
YES. The Poker Room has been ratified by the Gaming Board as being strategic, educational and entertaining in its offering. Ratification certificates are available on request. This is completely above board and legal.
Do I have to know how to play poker?
Not at all. We have designed this course assuming that players have NO knowledge of poker, or playing cards for that matter. Our experienced dealers have been trained in the art of ‘training’, and guide participants through the step-by-step process of learning the game, and then understanding its application to business.
What is the minimum and maximum number of delegates The Poker Room can accommodate?
Given the competitive nature of the product, our minimum number is 16 people (2 tables of 8) and the maximum we can accommodate is 250 people. An average (and perfect sized) event is 4 tables (between 32 and 36 people).
Where does the event take place?
Absolutely anywhere. We bring The Poker Room to you! We are completely mobile and supply the tables, chips, cards and dealers. All you need to supply is the venue and food & beverage, and we do the rest. We have hosted events in boardrooms, golf clubs, restaurants and conference centers (to name but a few).
How long is a Poker Room event?
Business presentation event is between 3-5 hours (client dependant). The Pure Poker Play and Activation events are between 2-4 hours (client dependant)
